South Ridge (Southern Höllhorn)
The Southern Ridge on the Southern Höllhorn offers eight pitches with a VI- (IV A0) point in the third pitch, which can also be bypassed on the left in easier climbing (III). Then mostly between III and IV. Due to the rather manageable length of the climb and the long approach, the route is not particularly suitable for the lazy plaisir climber. The combination of biking, hiking and climbing has its charm, however, and you are usually alone on the ridge. In addition, the impressions on the long ascent through the Oytal (by bike), the Käser-Alpe basin and the Wildenfeld are simply wonderful. With a constant view of the Allgäu grass classics such as Höfats and Schneck and the rocky flanks of Großer and Kleiner Wilder. The more difficult areas are well secured with bolt and adhesive hooks, the easier pitches are also sufficient, but with larger bolt spacing.
