Built in the 1970s, Katiska has undergone a number of changes and improvements over the years, the latest refurbishment taking place in 2018. More amenities have been added and the appearance enlivened, yet honoring the past and the original spirit. The Katiska cottage has 2 bedrooms each with twin beds,a living space for dining and relaxing by a fireplace, a kitchenette and WC/shower. Cosy living is easy here with all the amenities such as electricity and drinkable tap water.
There is a spacious and traditional Finnish sauna out on the yard from where you can take a dip into the lake and enjoy the lakeland views - the cottage has its own private shoreline some 20 metres away. In the yard you can do barbecue outside at an outdoor fireplace with a grate, bench seats or log stools around the fireplace

Terms
Final cleaning, use of bedlinen and towels is always included in the total price of reservation which varies somewhat depending on the number of guests. Please note that the reservation calendar automatically considers the different minimum lengths of stay that are valid at different times: generally one week in June-August and 2 nights at other times.Pets are allowed in the cottage for no extra charge.

Public transport
Regrettably our cottages are not served by public transport. The nearest bus stop is on National Road no. 5 at Alapitkä (13 km), and the nearest railway stations are at Lapinlahti and Siilinjärvi, both about 25 minutes away. The nearest airport is Rissala/Kuopio, 35 minutes away.Getting there
We recommend either own or rental car.Drive along National Road no. 5. At Alapitkä, turn to road no. 5580 following the road sign for KINNULANLAHTI. Drive on for about 5 km and then turn right, following the road sign for TÖLVÄ. After driving on Tölväntie for 6 km, you’ll cross a bridge. Some 300 metres after the bridge, turn left to Jokiniementie. Continue on this road for about 600 metres, until you arrive on the yard of a yellow farmhouse. Walk into the reception (Jokiniementie 62, 71910 Alapitkä) located in the main building to check in, get your key and receive instructions on how to reach the accommodation.
