The origins of mountaineering amidst nature
Torinese Alps
In the Turin Alps, the bond that unites Italy and France is strong. Leaving from the south, we meet the Waldensian Valleys- Pellice, Germanasca and Chisone - the perfect destination for trekking and mountain biking fans. Continuing north, the Chisone Valley and the Upper Susa Valley hosted the Torino 2006 Winter Olympics, with Bardonecchia, Cesana-Sansicario, Clavière, Pragelato, Sauze d'Oulx and Sestriere, ideal destinations for fans of outdoor sports. Moving north-east, you’ll reach the Lanzo Valleys, surrounded by some of Piemonte’s most beautiful peaks and the cradle of Italian mountaineering, and the Canavese Valleys, which host the Piemonte side of the Parco Nazionale del Gran Paradiso, home to typical alpine environments, with glaciers, rocks, larch and fir woods and a thriving fauna symbolized by the ibex

Historically, the province of Cuneo hosted great cultural and commercial exchanges between Italy and France. Starting out from Cuneo, the area embraces the Ligurian, Maritime and Southern Cottian Alps, then stops on Monviso, the stone king. The Cuneo Alps are the ideal setting for many outdoor activities for all tastes, from family hikes to more demanding excursions for the more experienced.
