Culinary delights in Luxembourg
Life is too short for bad wine and indulgent food – in Luxembourg, you will find neither.
Wine grapes have been growing on the sunny slopes of the Moselle valley for many generations. The area under cultivation for predominantly white grape varieties (Elbling, Rivaner, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Auxerrois, Riesling and Gewürztraminer) today measures around 1,295 ha. Luxembourg's Crémant, which regularly wins prizes at international competitions as Luxembourg's answer to Champagne, has a special status.
In addition to wine, the Luxembourgers also cultivate the art of brewing beer and distilling schnapps. It is not without reason that you will find numerous historic brasseries and distilleries that invite you to enjoy a good drop.
Luxembourg's menu features many hearty and home-style dishes, which are often reinterpreted by star chefs. A total of 10 restaurants have been awarded one or even two stars by the renowned Michelin Guide.
