Cliff Palace at Mesa Verde National Park (guided tour)
The destination of our short tour is Cliff Palace, which we will reach by a ladder. The impressive rock shelter was built between the 12th and 13th century by the Anasazi Indians. About 150 rooms, 20 kivas and several towers were built out of sandstone blocks under a huge rock overhang. The estimated number of former residents of the dwellings is at least 100. A ranger guides us through this fascinating structure and gives us an interesting insight into the culture of the Anasazi.
