Savonia University of Applied Sciences Verified partner Explorers Choice
Huutavanholman kierros hiking route begins by walking over the longest pontoon bridge in Finland, that goes across Tahkolahti bay area. Then it is time for the longest stairs in Finland! They were built in 2017, and they offer you a direct (yet demanding) route up to Tahko hill. After climbing the 1054 steps, you will see that view is totally worth the effort. A labyrinth of lakes, islands and forest continues as far as the eye can see.
After admiring the views, the path takes you into the woods. You walk down a beautiful but partly rather rocky path until you reach the wonderful Huutavanholma conservation area. Take a moment to enjoy the atmosphere of this area. This special place has lush and rare flora, rocky terrain and a lovely stream that runs through the area. You will go over the stream by a small bridge and continue along the rocky path towards Tahko center.
